The owner sat with me for 20 minutes going over the trail conditions, permit process, and which jeep stand to use the next morning. That kind of local knowledge is priceless when you are trekking alone. Room was clean, dinner was a solid dal-roti-sabzi, and I was on the road to Gangotri by 6:30 AM well-fed and well-rested.
